The electricity supply network is a large and complex system. Power outages don't happen often and don't usually last long. However, it helps to know what to do when they happen. Taking the right steps can lessen the inconvenience and discomfort.
There are many factors which can affect your supply including:
>  weather conditions (heavy rainfall cause land slides and flooding, branches and trees fall on power lines);
>  vegetation management, power pole burning, road accidents involving power poles and digging into underground cables and
>  the use of electrical equipment in your home or in premises of other customers which can cause interference to electricity supply to your house.

Should you experience any disruption in power supply, first look outside to check if the whole neighbourhood or street is without electricity? If that is the case, then power supply to your area has been disrupted; you can also check for any scheduled maintenance on Planned Outages or Call and inform FEA Contact Centre: East & Central on 3313333, West on 6664555 and North on 8815444 or send in an online Service Request
