disconnections and reconnections
Disconnection
Electricity is paid on a monthly basis. It is the responsibility of all customers to pay up their bill before the due date stated on their electricity bill. The Fiji Electricity Authority is not obliged to issue reminder notices if your account(s) remain unpaid after the due date. FEA is empowered to disconnect your electricity supply immediately should you fail to pay your overdue bill on time. If you don't receive your bill around the usual time, please contact the FEA Contact Centre on telephone number within your vicinity: Central & East on 3313333, West 6664555 and or North on 8815444 or visit your nearest FEA Customer Service Centre. Remember your electricity supply will be disconnected without further notice if fail to pay your bill by the due date.
Reconnection
Your electricity supply will be reconnected provided you pay up your overdue bill plus the reconnection fee of $5.63 during working hours. A reconnection fee of $11.26 is added to your overdue bill should you want your power supply reconnected after hours. Your power supply will be reconnected within 24 hours should you pay up immediately on the day of disconnection. If you settle your bill a day after you were disconnected your power supply will be reconnected within the next 48 hours depending on the availability of FEA staff in your area. If you make your payment at any of FEA's collecting agency (designated Morris Hedstrom stores) during the weekend your electricity will be reconnected the next business day.
Pilferage and illegal supplier
The Fiji Electricity Authority is the sole distributor of electricity in our country. It is an offence if you are found selling and or using FEA sourced electricity without FEA's knowledge. It is every intending customer's responsibility to visit their nearest FEA office in order to open an account with FEA. (Details are on the Services Page). Once you have power supplied to your premises, remember the metre box is FEA property. It is illegal for anyone to tamper supply by doing anything with the FEA metre. No customer should be supplying electricity to another customer other than FEA. FEA has every right to disconnect your electricity supply once it confirms your illegally using or selling power. Once this illegal action is confirmed the matter is reported to the police.
