FEA - Underground Cable hazardThere are hundreds of kilometres of Fiji Electricity Authority underground cables in the residential and industrial zones of our towns and cities.

Damaging just one cable costs a lot of money, isolates large numbers of people from vital services or worse still, leads to serious injury and fatality. There have been incidents where heavy machineries have dug up FEA's high voltage underground cables causing unplanned power supply disruptions and a case of fatality where a man dug in his backyard and struck an underground cable.

If you are living in an area where there are power lines, make sure you call FEA before digging or anyone intending to dig up roads, footpaths, carry out excavation works, cut trees or carry out any kind of construction work near any FEA asset be it underground or overhead, must contact the nearest FEA office prior to carrying out the work. This is to ensure the safety of those carrying out the work and members of the public.

Furthermore it will prevent any unplanned disruption of power supply to FEA's valued customers. You are requested to contact the FEA 24-hour service lines on these numbers closest to you:
