power sharing - central division
Printer Friendly Version Email to Friend
The Fiji Electricity would like to advise its valued customers that the Power Sharing Plan that was cancelled last weekend has been rescheduled for this weekend, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th April. Please download the PDF version of the planned outages.

Why?

FEA’s engineers and technical teams must continue major works to relocate towers that are at extreme risk of falling due to land slide.
These towers are the only means of carrying high voltage transmission lines from the Monasavu Hydro Power Station, which is our main source of power to the Central Division. Should one tower collapse it will have the catastrophic effect of taking another 4 towers down with it.
If transmission towers are not relocated now Should these towers fall, it will result in severe power outages to the Central Division for approximately 3 to 4 months while repair works are carried out.

We therefore ask our customers in the Central Divison to please bear with the one and a half days of inconvenience this weekend so we can avoid three to four months of potential disaster.

PLEASE NOTE: Only the Central Division will be affected by the tower relocation work this weekend.
